Sea Raider plate aluminium boat moored at a Queensland marina

About Sea Raider Boats: A Legacy of Boating in Queensland

A family business built on three generations of fishing the same water — Moreton Bay through to the Gold Coast Broadwater — and on aluminium plate boats built to handle it.

The question we get asked most

Where are Sea Raider boats made?

The straight answer: the hulls are manufactured overseas by a long-term partner — one of the world’s leading aluminium boat manufacturers — and everything else is done here in Queensland by our own team at Cleveland Marina.

We put that up front rather than burying it, because it is the first thing serious buyers ask and they deserve a direct answer rather than marketing language.

Done by our manufacturing partner
  • Hull cutting, forming and welding in 5083 marine-grade plate
  • Internal frame, stringers and foam fill
  • Inspection to ISO 9001 and CE certification standards
Done by us, at Cleveland Marina
  • Motor installation and rigging
  • Trailer assembly and matching to finished boat weight
  • Electronics, EVA decking and full fit-out
  • Australian compliance, registration and quality control
  • Water testing before handover — every boat, not a sample

That arrangement is deliberate. It is what lets us hand over a 7.5m plate boat, rigged and registered, at the price we do — without taking anything out of the hull to get there.

Where it started

Three generations on the same water

Sea Raider Boats is more than a brand — it is a legacy, rooted in the waters of Queensland and built on a passion for boating that spans generations.

Our journey began in 1972, when our father first started fishing the waterways from Moreton Bay down to the Gold Coast Broadwater — a tradition proudly continued. For over three generations we have navigated these waters, gaining an intimate knowledge of the region’s unique maritime environment.

Just like you, we cherish the freedom and adventure that comes with life on the water, and we are committed to providing boats that enhance every outing — whether you are fishing, cruising or simply exploring.

Designed around the conditions

Built for Queensland water

Finished, rigged and ready to go home.

Our boats are designed with the Queensland boater in mind. We understand the challenges and the joys of navigating these waters, and every Sea Raider is built to withstand the conditions here.

Each model features 5083 marine-grade aluminium plate combined with a deep-V hull, delivering strength, durability and comfort in a chop. Hulls are foam filled and water-tight for positive buoyancy, and the deck drains itself.

None of that is decoration. It is what a bar crossing and a wind-against-tide chop actually ask of a boat.

Questions

Common questions about Sea Raider

Where are Sea Raider boats made?

The hulls are manufactured overseas by a trusted long-term partner, one of the world’s leading aluminium boat manufacturers. Everything else — motor installation, trailer assembly, electronics, full fit-out, Australian compliance, registration and quality control — is completed by our own team at Cleveland Marina in Queensland. Every boat is water-tested here before handover.

Are Sea Raider boats Australian made?

They are Australian assembled, fitted out and certified. The hull is built by our overseas manufacturing partner to our specification in 5083 marine-grade plate; the boat you take delivery of is completed, rigged, tested and registered here in Queensland. We are upfront about that split rather than claiming more than we should.

Who owns Sea Raider Boats?

We are a family-owned business based at Cleveland Marina in Queensland, with three generations of boating on Moreton Bay and the Gold Coast Broadwater behind us. The business started from that, in 1972.

What certification do the boats carry?

Every boat is inspected to meet ISO 9001 and CE certification standards. Any model can also be built to Australian commercial survey, including hire and drive (Class 4), provided it is requested before construction begins.

Can I see a boat before I buy?

Yes. We are at Cleveland Marina and usually have boats available to inspect and sea trial. Call 07 3477 9338 to arrange a time.
