Insuring a particular model?
The form asks for hull length, year and horsepower. Boat insurance questions we get asked
New Wave states that no survey is required for new policies quoted online, although an underwriter may ask for one in some cases. If you are buying for recreational use, no survey is required to own or register the boat either – see our boat survey guide.
It depends on the boat, the sum insured, where it is kept, your postcode and your claims history, so there is no single figure. The form above returns New Wave’s actual premium for your boat in a few minutes, with no obligation.
What is covered under the boat policy – including the motor and fitted equipment – is set out in New Wave’s Product Disclosure Statement, so read it or ask them when you quote. Trailers are offered by New Wave as a separate insurance product.
The form asks for the purchase price and, separately, the sum you want insured. That figure is your decision – Sea Raider cannot advise on it. If you are unsure how the sum insured works, New Wave’s team can explain it on 1300 121 046.
