Boat stone guards protect the hull, gelcoat and painted aluminium of a trailered boat from the stone chips, gravel and road debris thrown up by your tow vehicle. Every chip is unsightly, lets corrosion start and knocks money off the resale value of the boat. The D-Flector Boat Stone Guard is a marine-grade 316 stainless steel frame fitted with heavy-duty, double-weave PVC mesh that hugs the bow of the boat and deflects stones safely to the ground. It bolts to your existing trailer with U-bolts in around 30 minutes, with no drilling, and comes in four sizes to suit boats from under 4.5m up to 8.5m.

Advanced Stone Chip Protection™

Heavy-duty, double-weave PVC mesh deflects stones and road debris downward instead of into the hull, and shields the underside of the boat from saltwater spray and dust. Broad YKK zipper panels on every model give you easy access to the bow, winch and anchor well without removing anything.

Quick, easy, drill-free installation

The guard bolts on with heavy-duty U-bolts in around 30 minutes. Nothing is drilled or cut, so your trailer’s integrity, finish and warranty are untouched.

Patented adjustable design

Adjustable brackets (AU patent 2018241136 B2, US 10913382 B2) tailor the guard to different boat widths and trailer geometries without any change to the trailer body. The centre bracket adjusts between 450mm and 600mm, and the top brace and rear sections adjust independently.

Extreme durability and reliability

Tested to Australian Design Rules (ADR 13/00, VSB 1, ADR 42) and to international standards for vibration (ISO 16750-3:2007), salt spray (ASTM B117), stone chip resistance (ASTM D3170) and thermal cycling (IEC 60068-2). The mesh is UV and weather resistant to ASTM D4329. Built for real boat-ramp and highway conditions, not the showroom.

Every guard ships complete: stainless steel frame with the mesh cover fitted, a full set of hook-and-loop bungee cords, and all the U-bolts and brackets needed for installation. Replacement mesh covers, bungee packs, U-bolt and bracket kits are all available separately, so the guard can be kept in new condition for years.

What size boat stone guard do I need?

It depends on your boat’s overall length: D400 for boats up to 4.5m, D500 for 4.5m to 5.5m, D600 for 5.5m to 6.5m and D700 for 6.5m to 8.5m. The guard height should sit close to your boat’s gunnel height for the best fit and finish.

Do I need to drill my boat trailer?

No. The D-Flector guard bolts straight onto your existing trailer using heavy-duty U-bolts, so the chassis is not drilled or cut.

How long does installation take?

A simple DIY install takes around 30 minutes. If you are buying a boat and trailer from Sea Raider, we can fit the guard before delivery.

Can I still access my boat with the stone guard fitted?
