Boat Trailers for Sale Brisbane – Galvanised & Aluminium, 4.8m to 8.2m

Sea Raider aluminium and galvanised boat trailers

Boat trailers for sale in Brisbane – Sea Raider sells galvanised and aluminium boat trailers from Cleveland Marina, Brisbane, to anyone with a boat, not just Sea Raider owners. The range runs from 4.8m and 5.7m hot-dip galvanised trailers in single and tandem axle, for tinnies, runabouts and side consoles, up to 6.9m and 8.2m dual-axle aluminium trailers for bigger plate boats and offshore rigs. Every trailer has a published price, and every one is matched to the hull – length, weight and hull shape – before you tow away.

Buying one is straightforward. Tell us the boat, we confirm the right model and set the rollers or skids to the hull, and we can arrange Queensland registration, fit a D-Flector stone guard and either hand over at the marina or organise transport anywhere in Australia. Low-cost finance is available on trailers too.

Which boat trailer do I need?

Start with your boat’s overall length, then think about what it weighs on the trailer with the motor, fuel, battery and gear aboard. A trailer’s ATM (aggregate trailer mass) is the most the loaded trailer may weigh, boat and trailer together, so the whole rig has to come in under it. If your boat sits at the top of a range, step up to the braked or tandem model – the extra capacity costs little and the rig tows better. The table below matches the six trailers to boat length; the price is the trailer alone, with registration, delivery and options on top.

Galvanised or aluminium?

Hot-dip galvanised steel is the proven choice for boats up to 5.7m. A fully welded, galvanised frame stands up to saltwater ramps, costs less than aluminium and is easy to look after. All four galvanised models come with 13-inch wheels and mudguards, an adjustable winch post with hand winch, a swing-up jockey wheel, LED lights fitted, and rollers or skids on an adjustable set-up so the trailer can be fitted to your hull. The 4.8m ATM 1200kg and both 5.7m models run mechanical override brakes, so no electric brake controller is needed in the tow vehicle, and the 5.7m tandem is ADR & RVSA compliant for Australian registration.

Aluminium is lighter to tow and far more corrosion-resistant than steel, which is why the 6.9m and 8.2m trailers are built in aluminium for bigger plate boats and frequent saltwater launching. The 6.9m is a dual-axle trailer rated to 1550kg with hydraulic brakes (electric available – ask us), 185/14 tyres, LED lights and wobble rollers on adjustable side adjusters, and suits boats up to around 21ft (about 6.4m). The 8.2m is a dual-axle, marine-grade aluminium trailer 27ft (approx. 8.2m) long with an ATM of 3,490 kg, hydraulic brakes, 15-inch wheels and LED lights, for boats up to around 8m. For the full comparison, read galvanised vs aluminium boat trailers.

Custom-built trailers and heavy packages

The 6.9m and 8.2m aluminium trailers are custom-built to match the hull, and we also build trailers to order for boats that do not fit the standard range – a different hull shape, a heavier boat, or a set-up you want done a particular way. Tell us the boat and we will spec the trailer around it. Options on any trailer, such as a spare wheel or skid and roller upgrades, are available – ask for a price.

Towing something bigger? Heavy-duty 4.5-tonne tandem packages with AL-KO iQ7 electric-hydraulic braking are available for the Boss range — ask us for a quote. More on custom boat trailers.

Why Sea Raider trailers tow better

Our trailers use heavy-duty side adjusters rather than the basic clamp-style mounts on standard trailers:

  • A more secure hold for roller arms
  • Accurate adjustment that doesn’t shift under load
  • Even hull support on long-distance tows

The chassis is also wider than most standard models — noticeably more stable at highway speed and on uneven ramps, which matters with larger hulls and offshore setups.

Registration, delivery and finance

Queensland registration

We can arrange Queensland registration for you – ask for a price. Interstate buyers register the trailer in their home state. In Queensland, a trailer over 750 kg ATM needs a safety certificate when it is sold or transferred, so ask us how that works for the model you choose. Details are on the registration and delivery page.

Delivery across Australia

Collect your trailer from Cleveland Marina, Brisbane, or ask us about local delivery across South East Queensland. Transport from Brisbane to other states is priced by zone: New South Wales $2,500, Australian Capital Territory $2,000, Victoria $3,000, Northern Territory $1,500, Western Australia $4,500 and Tasmania $4,500. South Australia is not listed – ask us for a quote.

Finance

Low-cost finance is available on trailers – ask us when you enquire, or read about boat trailer finance.

Protect the hull on the road

Stone chips from the tow vehicle are the most common damage a trailered boat picks up. Sea Raider is an authorised distributor of D-Flector boat stone guards — the Australian-made, patented 316 stainless steel and heavy-duty mesh guard that bolts to any of our trailers in about 30 minutes with no drilling. Four sizes cover boats up to 8.5m, and we can fit one before your boat and trailer leave the yard.

Which guard goes with which trailer: the 4.8m trailers take a D400 (boats up to 4.5m) or D500 (4.5m to 5.5m); the 5.7m trailers a D500 or D600 (5.5m to 6.5m); the 6.9m aluminium a D600 or D700 (6.5m to 8.5m); and the 8.2m aluminium a D700. Guard prices run from $1,139 (D400) to $2,639 (D700).

Frequently asked questions

How much does a boat trailer cost?

Sea Raider boat trailers run from $2,195 for the 4.8m galvanised single-axle trailer (ATM 750 kg) to $15,000 for the 8.2m dual-axle aluminium trailer (ATM 3,490 kg). The galvanised range is $2,195 to $4,974 and the aluminium range is $12,000 to $15,000. Queensland registration, delivery and options are extra – ask for a price.

What size boat trailer do I need for my boat?

Match the trailer to the boat’s overall length and loaded weight. Boats of 4.3m to 4.8m suit the 4.8m galvanised trailers (ATM 750 kg or 1,200 kg); boats of 5.2m to 5.7m suit the 5.7m galvanised single-axle (ATM 1,400 kg) or tandem (ATM 2,000 kg); boats up to around 21ft (about 6.4m) suit the 6.9m aluminium trailer, rated to 1,550 kg; and boats up to around 8m suit the 8.2m aluminium trailer (ATM 3,490 kg). Send us the make and model and we will confirm the fit.

Is registration included in the price?

No. The listed price is for the trailer. We can arrange Queensland registration for you – ask for a price. Interstate buyers register the trailer in their home state. In Queensland, a trailer over 750 kg ATM needs a safety certificate when it is sold or transferred.

Do you deliver to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or interstate?

Yes. Trailers are collected from Cleveland Marina, Brisbane, or transported from Brisbane. Local delivery across South East Queensland, including the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, is by arrangement, and interstate transport is priced by state – see the delivery rates above.

Is finance available on a boat trailer?

Yes. Low-cost finance is available on trailers, with or without a boat. Ask us when you enquire and we will point you to the trailer finance page and talk you through the options.

Tandem or single axle – which is better?

A single-axle trailer is lighter, cheaper and easier to move around by hand; our single-axle galvanised trailers go up to 1,400 kg ATM. The 5.7m tandem lifts the ATM to 2,000 kg, runs mechanical override brakes across both axles with no electric brake controller needed, and is the steadier choice for heavier 5.2m to 5.7m boats and long tows. Both aluminium trailers, the 6.9m and 8.2m, are dual axle.

Galvanised or aluminium – which should I choose?

Hot-dip galvanised steel is the proven, lower-cost choice for boats up to 5.7m and handles saltwater ramps well. Aluminium is lighter to tow and far more corrosion-resistant, which is why the 6.9m and 8.2m trailers for bigger plate boats and offshore rigs are built in aluminium.

Can you build a custom boat trailer?

Yes. The 6.9m and 8.2m aluminium trailers are custom-built to match the hull, and we build trailers to order for boats that do not fit the standard range. Heavy-duty 4.5-tonne tandem packages with AL-KO iQ7 electric-hydraulic braking are available for the Boss range on request.
