Boat Trailer Registration and Delivery

Every trailer in the Sea Raider boat trailer range can be registered in Queensland and delivered anywhere in Australia. This page covers what we arrange, the Queensland rules that affect a trailer sale, how boat trailer delivery is priced by state, and how collection from Cleveland Marina, Brisbane works.
Queensland registration
Trailers are registered separately from the boat. If you are in Queensland we can arrange the registration for you so the trailer is ready to tow away – ask for a price when you enquire and we will let you know what details we need from you.
Safety certificates for trailers over 750kg ATM
In Queensland a trailer over 750kg ATM needs a current safety certificate when it is sold or transferred. That covers the 4.8m 1200kg, 5.7m 1400kg and 5.7m tandem 2000kg galvanised trailers and both aluminium trailers. The 4.8m 750kg trailer sits at the limit, so it does not. If you later sell a trailer privately, the same rule applies to you. The Sea Raider owner’s manual covers trailer registration, towing and compliance in more detail.
Interstate buyers
If you are outside Queensland, the trailer is registered in your home state after delivery. Each state has its own inspection and registration process; we supply the trailer and its documentation and you lodge the registration locally. Tell us your state when you enquire and we will tell you what paperwork comes with the trailer.
Delivery Australia-wide
Delivery is priced by state as transport from Brisbane. The rates below are per trailer and are added to the trailer price.
| State or territory | Transport from Brisbane |
|---|---|
| Queensland | Collect from Cleveland Marina, Brisbane, or ask us about local delivery |
| New South Wales | $2,500 |
| Australian Capital Territory | $2,000 |
| Victoria | $3,000 |
| South Australia | Ask us for a quote |
| Northern Territory | $1,500 |
| Western Australia | $4,500 |
| Tasmania | $4,500 |
Delivery times depend on the carrier’s schedule and your location; we will give you an estimate when you book. Check the trailer on arrival and let us know straight away if anything has been damaged in transit.
Delivery to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and beyond
Most of our trailers go to boat owners in South East Queensland. Cleveland Marina is on Brisbane’s bayside, within easy reach of the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba. The simplest option is to collect: bring the boat, and we set the trailer under it before you leave. If you would rather have the trailer brought to you on the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, in Toowoomba, Ipswich, Logan or elsewhere in Queensland, ask us about local delivery when you enquire and we will quote it for your address.
Collecting from Cleveland Marina
- Sea Raider is at Cleveland Marina, Brisbane. Visits are by appointment – call ahead so the trailer and the yard are ready.
- Bring the boat if you can. Side adjusters, rollers or skids and the winch post are set to the hull while you are here.
- Bring the tow vehicle with the right tow ball and a flat 7-pin trailer plug; our trailers run LED lights with a 7-pin flat plug.
- If you have asked us to arrange Queensland registration, the trailer can leave registered and ready to tow.
- A D-Flector boat stone guard can be fitted before you collect – see boat stone guards for sizes.
Finance and custom builds
Registration and delivery can be included in a finance quote – see boat trailer finance. If your boat needs a trailer set up to the hull, read about custom-built boat trailers, and if you are not sure which ATM you need, start with what size boat trailer do I need.
