Sea Raider Warranty Policy

At Sea Raider, we take pride in crafting high‑performance, durable aluminium plate boats for serious anglers and offshore adventurers. Our commitment to quality is backed by comprehensive warranty coverage, ensuring peace of mind for every customer.

This warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this document excludes, restricts, or modifies those rights.

Warranty Coverage

1. Structural Hull Warranty – 5 Years (orders after June 2025)

Sea Raider warrants that the structural components of the hull, including:

• Hull and sealed chambers
• All welding performed by Sea Raider
• Stringers, transom, and components welded integrally into the hull
• Topside (above deck) components fabricated by Sea Raider

are free from defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) years from the date of original retail purchase.

2. Paint and Powder-Coat Warranty – 12 Months

Sea Raider warrants that all paintwork and powder‑coating applied by Sea Raider or its authorised subcontractors are free from defects for twelve (12) months from the date of original retail purchase.

This warranty excludes:

• Normal wear and tear
• Oxidation, fading, or degradation caused by environmental exposure (including saltwater, freshwater, UV, fuel, electrical currents, and dissimilar metals)
• Cosmetic deterioration that does not affect structural integrity

3. Commercial Use Warranty – 6 Months

For vessels purchased for commercial use (e.g., fishing charters, water taxis), Sea Raider offers a six (6) month warranty from the date of original retail purchase, covering the same components as above.

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

• Components not manufactured or installed by Sea Raider (covered by their respective manufacturers’ warranties)
• Damage caused by misuse, negligence, accidents, racing, overloading, or failure to follow the Sea Raider Owner’s Manual
• Damage from improper maintenance, including failure to flush, clean, or protect the vessel after saltwater use
• Modifications or additions made after purchase without prior written approval from Sea Raider
• Normal wear and tear, including upholstery, windows, windscreens, seals, and consumable items
• Damage caused by improper support, adjustment, or use of trailers not supplied or approved by Sea Raider
• Corrosion or electrolysis caused by inadequate anode protection or incorrect electrical installation by third parties
• Trailer wheel bearing and hub failure, and any damage to the trailer or vessel that results from it, where the bearings have not been kept full of grease as required under Trailer Maintenance below

Trailer Maintenance

Your trailer wheel bearings must be kept full of grease at all times. This is a condition of your warranty.

Boat trailers live a hard life. They are submerged in salt water every time you launch and retrieve, then towed long distances at highway speed. Here is what actually happens: after a tow the hubs are warm, and the air inside them is expanded. Back the trailer into cold water and that air contracts, sucking water and grit in past the seals. Salt water emulsifies the grease, hardens the seals and rusts the rollers, and a bearing running on contaminated or missing grease will overheat and fail — often a long way from home, and frequently taking the hub, the axle and sometimes the boat with it.

We have seen this happen to several customers. It is entirely preventable, and it is not covered by warranty.

As the owner you are responsible for:

• Keeping every wheel bearing packed full of marine-grade grease and topping it up regularly — do not wait for a service interval
• Checking and topping up the grease after every saltwater launch, and before any long-distance tow
• Letting the hubs cool for fifteen to thirty minutes after a long tow before the trailer goes into the water — a warm hub sucks water in as it cools
• Flushing the hubs and trailer with fresh water after every saltwater use
• Checking hubs for heat by hand at every stop on a long tow — a hub too hot to touch is a bearing about to fail
• Having the bearings inspected, repacked or replaced by a qualified trailer mechanic at the intervals set out by the trailer manufacturer, or sooner if the trailer is used frequently in salt water

Bearing failure caused by lack of grease, and any resulting damage, is treated as improper maintenance and is excluded from warranty. If you are unsure how to check or grease your bearings, contact us or your dealer before your next trip — it takes a few minutes and we would rather show you than see you stranded.

Transferability

This warranty is transferable to subsequent owners within the original warranty period. The period begins on the original retail purchase date and is not extended upon transfer.

Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim:

1. Cease using the vessel or defective component immediately upon discovering a defect.
2. Notify an authorised Sea Raider dealer or Sea Raider directly in writing, providing proof of purchase and photographs where possible.
3. Deliver the vessel or component to the authorised dealer at your expense (unless otherwise required under ACL).
4. The dealer will assess the claim and coordinate with Sea Raider for repair or replacement.

Important: Continued use of a defective component may void the warranty if it causes further damage.

Terms and Conditions of Sale

Our standard terms and conditions of sale apply to every new vessel Sea Raider supplies. They sit alongside the warranty above and cover the build and drawing approval process, variations, price and payment, title and risk, delivery and handover, owner’s maintenance obligations, and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
